Silence is Betrayal

I am sharing this blog post on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. What an amazing man and legacy he has left for us to follow. He has inspired me because I have a dream too.

My dream is that men get out of quiet desperation and start to live a life of divine inspiration.

My dream is that being a Christian man in today’s world is no longer about suffering in shame and guilt, but living a life that makes us feel fully alive because we see ourselves the way God sees us. 

We are his beloved sons.

My dream is to redefine what it means to be a Christian man. 

As men, we often try to find power in all of the wrong places turning to drugs, sex, alcohol, abuse, money, ambition and materialism. 

The alternative path I want to share is we find our power by being courageously vulnerable.

My dream is to be revolutionary in bringing the hope of Jesus to a generation of men who are desperately seeking spiritual guidance but have been turned off by religious conditioning.

As Martin Luther King, Jr. says, “There comes a time when silence is betrayal.”

That’s why it’s time for me to step up and write this book and share this message that God has put so strongly on my heart. I can’t be silent any more.

I am seeing too many good Christian men suffer in quiet desperation because of the cage we have put ourselves in trying to live up to the world’s standards.

Self-doubt be damned. It’s time to show up in the world with strength, courage and boldness because of who we are in Christ.

We have nothing to prove, no performing and no posturing. I am enough. You are enough. We are all enough. We are all loved equally by God.

It’s no more me against you. It’s no longer Democrats and Republicans. It’s no longer Catholic, Lutheran, Protestant, Muslim, Jewish. It’s no longer I am right and you are wrong.

It’s about one nation, one world, under God accepting and loving each other for who we are.

It’s no longer about being separate or existing apart from God and others. It’s about being in divine relationship with oneself, God and others.
